Plainsboro is an autonomous territory of the Aculon Empire. It is the largest of the kingdom's three constituent parts (Karrotoia, Ponguino, Plainsboro) by land area. Citizens of Plainsboro are citizens of Aculon. It is the world's 9th-largest island and lies between the Aculonian and Hukinkaspol oceans, south of the Aculonian peninsula. The capital and largest city is Prosperity. Drosseronisi Island off the northern coast is the world's northernmost undisputed point of land and is an important trade hub. Cape Moses Jesus is another important asset to Plainsboro's agricultural economy, though fishing is important here too. Economically, Plainsboro is mostly self-sufficient, but is reliant on aid from Aculon.
The name Plainsboro originates from Aculonian settlers who originally founded the country in the early 1600s. Plainsboro was chosen due to the island's large amounts of vast plains.
Plainsboro was originally inhabited by the Inhuktuk people, but they were wiped out by pink lung disease from Aculonian settlers around 1602. The population expanded quickly but plateaued after about 1637 for no apparent reason. The city of Prosperity was founded in 1638 by Sir Johmas Tefferson. People originally didn't like it for some reason, so people left and founded the cities of Elton-upon-sea, Meadowham, and most importantly, Crest. Prosperity was so back though around 1658, and it quickly grew into the island's largest and most populous city, becoming the official capital in 1697. In 1
The geography of Plainsboro is rather consistent of plains regions, with a small mountain range on the leftern half of the country. Plainsboro has many farms and open grazing fields. Big Rock National Park is located in the central part of the island, which is home to, you guessed it, one big rock. It attracts many tourists each year.
The government and politics of Plainsboro primarily revolve around the autonomous government of the Republic of Plainsboro and the Aculonian statuatory government of the Aculonian Republic of Plainsboro. These two domains practically work together to control Plainboro's politics and government. Jasper Curtis has been the president of Plainsboro since 2022, when he beat Albort Hammock Senior in a Not-Being-A-Pedophile-Competition.
The economy of Plainsboro is overwhelmingly reliant on agricultural practices and the fishery.
The majority population of Plainsboro are whites, primarily Aculonian-Caucasian. They mostly follow the religion of Plainsboro Orthodox and Aculonian Judaism, but other religions are prominent in Plainsboro, such as Islam and Ijnibism.
According to The Plainington Dictionary of Music and Musicians, the term "pop music" originated in Plainsboro in the mid-1950s to describe rock and roll's fusion with the "new youth music".
1950s - The 1950s music scene in Plainsboro was largely characterized by the heavy jazz-fusion and blues rock groups The Ladybugs, The Auteurs, The Schwaggs, Mawrence Murkwater Rejuvenation, and the Lamentors
1960s - Music got a lot heavier. The Schwaggs and Ladybugs couldn't keep up and eventually fell apart in 1967 and 1964, respectively. In 1966, Colisian rock group, Southern Sacrifical Sleuthers recorded an album in Plainsboro, and it went #1 on the Placard Top 100. Thus, the SSS moved their recording studio to Plainsboro and now call Plainsboro their home.
1970s - Muck were an Aculonian-Plainsboro-Colisian prog-jazz fusion group that released 27 albums in 3 years.
1980s - Chasm was a 3-piece prog rock group originally formed in the late sixties, but rose to prominence in the early eighties with their album Moving Day, which contained heavy usage of synthesizers and odd time signatures such as 13.5/8. Not much else happened in the eighties, though.
1990s - The 90s Plainsboro music scene was heavily characterized by grunge, numetal, and alternative rock, primarily from bands like The Psychodelics, SMASH, and Reptile Dysfunction.
2000s - Garage rock revival. Bands like the Storks, the Breakouts, and the Double-Yellows took over the whole world for about 3 years and then faded back into obscurity.
