Huggie-Titan Crisis of 2025

The Huggie-Titan Crisis is an ongoing crisis between the Huggie Union, its allies, and the Titan Empire and its allies. 

Background

The crisis began on May 13, 2025, at an IPKO diplomatic meeting. The Titan Empire and Shadow Union formally accused the Huggie Union of threatening the world's "democracy," demanding that the Union break up, change politics, and join their alliance. President Liam Souza of the Huggie Union completely rejected these terms, knowing that his power is unmatched compared to their alliance. Following the rejection, President Jakob Yakover of the Titan Empire threatened war. A public domain passage from Souza today below:

We, the people, stand here to protect our grounds, our ideology, and our people from destruction created by evil Titans and Shadists. We shall not let the scum Titans, thick headed Shadows, prick Talisians, and the simpleminded United Oceans kill us.

Benjamin Rounsaville responded to him:

I know everyone here today, and they are all you. You are just talking to yourself here, Liam. Oh, and don't jump. The only thing thick here is you, and you are the opposite of prickly; in fact, you are quite soft like jelly.

Souza then responded:

Ben, I think you misunderstood the definition of prick I think it flew over your head. The fact that you know that I am soft like jelly is a little bit obscene and possibly crude or odd.

On May 15, Souza delivered a speech to Huggie City

Hello, my fellow workers, politicians, citizens, soldiers, people, doctors, employed, homeless, rich, poor, and everyone. We are in a crisis, a large crisis actually, where numbskull after numbskull fall to the dimwitted ideals of the fascist empire of the Titans. The Titans have decided to wage a political and possibly an actual war on our innocent country, for they claim we are the aggressors. This is, of course, hypocritical as Yakover has decided to wage and start this crisis. He fooled our healed relationship, country, neighbor, and friend Colis into the idea of imperialism. They have also grabbed this random pick of Polar Island, and they claim that Xentus has real power, which is, of course, not true whatsoever, as they are a nation created to spread the ideals of Titan fascism. And the calls I have received and talked to the dictator of the Titan Empire were incredibly rude, as I felt completely disrespected talking to him. I tried to bargain with him, but he and his fascist puppets believe they should control a country with real people and a real government. He does not respect the idea of socialism or communism, as he does not understand what the definitions of those words are. He believes those words are hidden behind a fascist realm and does not see that in 1950, the Huggie Union broke away from the Huggie Empire because they did not like monarchism at all. Now look at us, you are scared because we have the best military, economy, and so much more, but you decide to team with other countries who have been losing prominence in the years because they found out that fascism doesn't work. Talus has left our alliance by breaking deal after deal, and I thought I could trust Ben Rounsaville, but I realize now he is just another thorn in my side, a prick, a betrayer, and a dictator. Now I alert you to stay on high alert, watch out in these coming days of the looming threat of fascism. For the outside cannot hurt the inside, the inside is too strong. We, the people, are the respectable barrier that will defend through the mountains, the icy seas, and the nomadic land to protect our ideas, our people, and ourselves. I hope that everyone has heard this speech, and I know that honourable Soren Brier has as he is ready to take up arms with the horrible species that is the Titan Empire. May God shine a bright light on our country right now and everyone have a wonderful day, even Yakover, Rounsaville, Dixon, Kelsey, and all the species that wish to destroy a shining beacon of democracy. And before I go, we are a mixed economy with capitalist and communist ideas to make the people happy. Elections exist in our country as well. SO I ASK, when will Yakov be unelected?

James Warden incident

The Titanic government complained that the sitting Vice President of the Huggie Union, James Warden, agreed to terms to commit treason against his country, support the capitalist and so-called democracy government, and completely abandon the Huggie Union. These claims made by the Titan Empire were completely false.

Sanctions, tariffs, and trade

In response, the Secretary of Commerce of the Huggie Union, Jim Bogun, announced alongside President Souza that there would be an additional 125% tariff against the United Oceans and the Titan Empire and a new 67% tariff on the Shadow Union. The IPKO reasoned to set sanctions on the Titan Empire and suspend their role in the IPKO due to imperial threatening terms. The Huggie Union fortified its borders and declared a state of emergency with war plans drawn from Allston Leonard.
